Coffee: Nowhere, located at West Coast Plaza is a cafe unlike any other. The cafe can accommodate a lot of customers (the most seats I’ve seen at a cafe up till now). This means that you can always find a seat and not feel too cramped up. A place suitable for people like me who don’t want my gossip to land on the ears of the people sitting beside me. The interior of the store went for a more industrial look with mainly furnitures made of wood and metal.
When you first walk into Coffee: Nowhere, you will be greeted with the pleasant aroma of freshly grounded coffee. At the back of this spacious establishment, you can find three desktops where you can do your own work. They provide this free workspace to their customers from 10am to 9pm every Monday to Friday. This workspace includes free internet, free printout and free power! They call this a “Coffice Spot”. A great place for people who just want to get out of the house and get some work done.
I love coffee and I have always wondered how can coffee taste so different from one cafe to another. Thankfully, I was able to learn more about coffee from Coffee: Nowhere. They provide a “Learn to Brew” course at their Brew Bar for just $10! Within 45 minutes, you can not only learn how to brew your own cup of coffee but also learn facts and stories about coffee you never knew before. For example, a fun fact that I learnt during the lesson was that coffee beans were actually seeds from a species of cherries! Cool huh?
Students get to try out hand brew for three times (just in-case you didn’t get the first two times right). After, you get to taste the coffee made by yourself. That sense of accomplishment is so satisfying. I actually felt pretty professional especially because Coffee: Nowhere provides students with top grade coffee beans to practice on and uses professional apparatus to conduct the lesson.
Classes are held every Saturday with two sessions to choose from.
Session 1: 4.30pm to 5.15pm
Session 2: 5.45pm to 6.30pm
I also learnt that the acidity in coffee differentiates the grade of the coffee beans used. The balance of sourness and bitterness in a coffee is important. And just like wine, there is a special way to taste coffee. They will teach you how to professionally taste your own hand brew.
Only 10 participants are accepted in each class so hurry up and register online now!
Thank you Coffee: Nowhere for welcoming us!
