Wah Kee Prawn Noodles is back with another outlet at Beach road! They first started as a humble little store in Pek Kio Food centre before expanding to a restaurant in Esplanade Mall. Their prawn noodles turned out to be a big hit among locals, attracting huge crowds and attention. Riding on their wave of success, they have now opened their 3rd outlet at Beach Road, which will be a kopitiam store. Localfare is a longstanding favourite in Singapore’s food scene and prawn noodles are definitely signature must-haves. Among the many popular prawn noodle stores, Wah Kee stands as one of the best, attracting both locals and foreigners.

Located right beside Golden Mile Complex, this new outlet is sure to attract the working crowd in the area. The highlight of the menu is the Ngoh Hiang platter, which features a combination of local fried delights on a single plate and comes in 3 sizes, $8 / $12 / $16 – this is also exclusive to the beach road outlet! This platter features prawn used in 4 different ways and will surely fill you up instantly. The fried platter was surprisingly not greasy and really highlights the freshness of the prawn meat.

What’s a trip to Wah Kee Prawn Noodle without having the Signature Big Prawn Noodles right? The Big Prawn Noodles come in 3 sizes, $10 / $20 / $30 while the regular Prawn Noodle is priced at $5, which is a great option if you don’t feel like anything too fancy. Opt for the dry noodle to get the full flavour of the fresh, succulent prawns or the soup version for perfectly seasoned broth. The generous amount of lard and shallots only adds texture and flavour to the fragrant dish.

Another mainstay on the menu is the Clam Soup ($12), which is only available at the Esplanade and Beach Road outlet. The refreshing broth – much sweeter than the prawn noodle’s broth – compliments the fresh clams to make the perfect meal on anyday. If you’re a huge fan of seafood, then you have to visit the Esplanade Bistro, which is packed with fresh seafood like oysters from US and France that will surely not disappoint.
