Picture this, you’ve got a nice drink in your hands, sea breeze blowing through your hair and on the table is a delicious cheese burger. Now what if I told you that you can get all that at East Coast Park? Atmosphere Bistro is located in the heart of East Coast Park and serves up delicious western cuisine and drinks as you unwind after a long week.

Many know Marine Cove, which is where McDonald’s and coffee bean is located. Walk down for 10 more minutes and you’ll reach another island of eateries. Host to cafes like St Marc and Starbucks, there are more bar options along this stretch as compared to Marine Cove. Making this a great place to unwind and take off the week’s stress.

Atmosphere Bistro is at the end of this stretch, and is directly behind Parkway Parade. The al fresco dining area is dimly lit which makes for a perfect Friday night date setting. There even is a mini playground for kids to play and have fun while the adults can rekindle their romance over a delicious meal.

Lava Cheese Burger

Lava Cheese Burger ($24.80)

This is unlike any regular cheese burger. The cheese looks like a literal patty which is deep fried to golden brown perfection. The lava is actually cambert cheese, which is laid on top of a juicy beef patty and completed with tomatoes, caramalised onions, wild rocket and a brioche bun. Cut into the cheese whilst hot and watch it ooze out in drip all over the rest of the burger. The cheese wasn’t too salty and with the breaded coating was crispy and firm whilst the cheese was simply gooey genius. The beef patty was seasoned well and juicy which made each mouthful simply delightful. This burger maybe hard to eat with your hands but the lava cheese really makes this burger a class above the rest.

Mentaiko Pulled Pork Burger

Mentaiko Pulled Pork Burger ($18.80)

I believe that you can never go wrong with a pulled pork burger but pairing mentaiko and pulled pork is still something completely foreign to me. The burger with completed with shredded carrots, wild rockets and drizzled with mentaiko mayo. The mentaiko flavour doesn’t overpower the dish but rather complemented the entire dish and gave it slight umami flavour. The pulled pork’s marinade shone with it’s subtle yet strong flavours an the entire dish came together to form a party in your mouth!

Flaming pizza

Flaming Pizza ($23.80)

Ever seen a pizza on fire? Order the flaming pizza to get just that! Thin crust pizza topped with prawns, salami, capsicum and assorted mushroom, a little dash of alcohol over the top and boom! Your pizza is on fire. After you’re done gazing at the pizza, dig in to a lovely crispy pizza. The fire would have burnt the alcohol out so the alcoholic taste is not strong at all, and the rest of the ingredients fall in to take centre stage. It could have done with slightly more prawns and salami but the overall dish still wasn’t too shabby.

Cheesy Coconut Toast

Cheesy Coconut Toast ($14.80)

Cheese and coconut are not necessarily two ingredients that you would associate together but somehow works for this dish. Thick slices of toast are filled with mozzarella cheese and coated in desiccated coconut which are toasted to a firm crisp. A single bite into the toast the coconut flaked will fall all over your plate, but the cheese pull is endless. Somehow the slight saltiness from the cheese and the subtle taste of the coconut complemented each other, and paired with a scoop of ice cream, made this dish a perfect way to end of the meal.

Black Pearl

Black Pearl ($16.80)

Flaming dishes don’t end at the flaming pizza, the black pearl is also another dish that is served in flames.  The black pearl is nothing like Captain Jack Sparrow’s ship. This elegant dessert is coconut ice cream that us encassed in a chocolate sphere and drizzled with warm gula melaka sauce. A small dash of alcohol and this baby lights up to melt the chocolate over the coconut ice cream. The blend of sweet and bitter melts in your mouth to leave a slight alcohol aftertaste. What other way to end off your meal than with a bang right?

The perfect way to end of your day or week, Atmosphere bistro rounds up the perfect balance of restaurant food with casual dining.  And the view and atmosphere of the area is a huge plus point as well!
