The Esplanade Festival Village was held from the 5th to 9th August, 2016, as part of the celebration for our Nation’s Birthday. There, we got to try the legendary Rainbow Bagel by WORD. And well, I have to say that….. it got my energy up the entire day!
Those sweet tooth buddies will love this for sure! The colourful bagel is stuffed with toasted marshmallow, kind of like s’mores, coated with maple syrup. There are even cream cheese strawberry fillings and biscuit crumbles! You can even have it with ice cream! It’s basically sugary goodness!
Not to mention the beautiful mix of colours that will just brighten up your day! In addition, WORD. cafe not only serves Rainbow Bagels, they also offer rainbow burgers, hot dishes, ice lollies and lots of finger food! Word is a Muslim-owned Upper Thomson cafe and it begun to sell this pastry first made famous by New York City’s The Bagel Store.
With its gorgeous waves of vivid Crayola colour and “funfetti” cream cheese filling, it’s no wonder that Scot Rosillo’s 20-year-old creation became a sensation with the advent of Instagram.
If you’ve missed out the Esplanade event, don’t worry! You can check out and support them at their physical store! They are even available at Geylang Serai Stores now!
