The creators of the Salted Egg Yolk Croissant are at it again, they are now serving Raclette Cheese dishes! You’ve probably seen Raclette Cheese in many other food video as it is currently rising in popularity. This cheese wheel is torched and the melted cheese is scraped onto your dishes.
Flavour Flings, a humble cafe operating in a neighbourhood area, mainly serves French and American brunch menu which revolves around eggs and bread. Chef Owner, Shawn, has an experienced background in working at brunch and French cafes which explains the menu he created. He started up Flavour Flings because he personally enjoys eating brunch. He also shared that he likes chilling out with friends over a cup of coffee and a tasty plate of food. This is why he took on the Halal Certification to deliver his passionate intention to everyone.
The name Flavour Flings is derived from Shawn himself. They wanted their customers to be able to “fling” around their menu for the wide array of flavours they offer. Another reason is that the word ‘flings’ also means “a gathering of guests to bring their friends, and friends of friends, to gather and dine.”.
The interior of this cafe was spacious and they offer both indoor and outdoor seatings. The chill ambience and cute but random displays are sure to make you enjoy your time at Flavour Flings!
Flavour Flings best selling items are mainly, their ever so famous, Salted Egg Yolk dishes. This includes: Salted Egg Yolk Croissant, Salted Egg Yolk Dirty Benny and Salted Egg Yolk Fries. The salted egg yolk scene may have died down a little but Flavour Flings keep their game strong by providing customers with their recent publicity of Halal Certified Raclette Cheese dishes. Their top selling dishes recently are Raclettesant and The Beef Steak and Raclette.
Naturally, we tried their two current top selling dishes. We started off with the Raclettesant. This is actually their signature Salted Egg Yolk Lava Butter Croissant topped with Melted Swiss Raclette Cheese. The butter croissant was crispy and fragrant. Despite having both the salted egg yolk and cheese, the dish was not overly salty. The cheese also added an extra layer of flavour to the dish.
Next, we tasted the Beef Steak and Raclette. The beef tenderloin is served alongside with baked potatoes, a salad and topped with Melted Swiss Raclette Cheese. The tender beef was cooked to medium and the melted cheese went perfectly with the meat. The potatoes were well marinated with garlic and herbs and the salad has a sweet and sour berry like dressing which gave the whole dish a nice balance.
Lastly, we tried another new item on the menu, Croissant Dirty Norwegian. This is another rendition of their Salted Egg Yolk Dirty Benny, but with a Butter Croissant, and smoked salmon. Other than the smoked salmon, the croissant also encompasses poached eggs and salted egg yolk sauce. This delicious sandwich is surrounded with butter cereal, garden salad and tasty chicken sausages. The runny eggs married the smoked salmon and croissant together. Yummy!
