Now located at the new Bukit Panjang Hawker Centre & Marketplace, this humble hawker stall first started up at Blk 137 Potong Pasir. As they had moved to the North-West region, they had to relocate their stall to Bukit Panjang for convenience. But that didn’t stop their loyal fans from Potong Pasir from making their way down just to get the taste of their scrumptious dishes. This stall had the longest queue when we went, which was during lunch hour on a weekday. No doubt it has proved that this place is worth our time, and definitely worth our money.
This Five-Spice Roll ($1/pc), more commonly known as ngoh hiang for locals, is a simple yet delightfully delicious pork sausage with crispy skin. This may be a popular side dish amongst locals, but it’s difficult to perfect. Luckily for this stall, they’ve done it right, especially with their 30 years of experience. I really liked this because it’s not only flavourful, it’s also really worth the money. It even comes with a tomato dip!
They are also known for their Taiwan Meatball Soup ($2.70). The pork meat is pounded so that it can be converted into a soft mushy meatball, and then minced pork is stuffed inside as well. The broth is also aromatic and perfect for a rainy day in Singapore.
They are most known for their Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles ($2.70)! At that price, you can get a scrumptious bowl of bouncy noodles, mushrooms, meatballs, minced chicken and vegetables. Mix them altogether to get the full flavour, and it’s a bowl of delight indeed.
If you want to try another side dish, you can try this Hokkien dish Crispy Beancurd Skin ($1/pc) which is tasty and worth it as well.
